This past weekend, Anthony and my two brothers-in-laws volunteered to help my dad bring furniture to the family lake house in the Berkshires. They made it a guys' weekend. Anthony left early Saturday morning to help my dad pack the truck with all the furniture. They took the ferry to Connecticut and then drove the rest of the way to the Berkshires. Once they moved all the furniture in (it took less than an hour), they had the rest of the day to relax and enjoy the view. They walked on the frozen lake, where an ice fishing contest was going on. It always amazes me that we walk on the frozen lake now, and in a few months, we will swim around. It is always a beautiful view, winter, spring, summer, or fall.
They ate breakfast at an old-fashioned local diner on Sunday and then drove back home. They made a pit stop in New Haven, Connecticut, to get pizza in one of the oldest pizza places in the northeast. The line was 45 minutes long, but they all agreed it was worth the wait.
We look forward to visiting the lake house when the weather warms up a bit, and we can't wait to bring our future child one day.
