We have so much to be thankful for this year. Looking back, this year was filled with many great memories. The world seems to be coming back from the pandemic. I traveled for work for the first time in 3 years, and we went to South Florida for a beach vacation with Anthony's parents. We traveled to the lakehouse several times and Disney World 4 times this year and made countless memories on our two extended family vacations. One with Anthony's family in the Outerbanks and one with my family in Disney World. Both were so much fun, and we loved spending time with our nieces and nephew. Our solo trip to Disney for Christmas was a highlight and the perfect way to head into Christmas and the end of 2022. In addition, we had a lot of birthday celebrations and communions. I can't wait to see what next year has in store.
We had some heartbreak with adoption scammers; one woman actually faked labor over the phone with us after talking to her for a few weeks. Then, later in the year, we were quickly matched with an expecting mother who was due a few weeks later, and she had changed her mind in the last week. It was upsetting, but we would never want to keep a family apart.
We have some fantastic celebrations coming in 2023. Anthony's parents both have milestone birthdays and their 50th wedding anniversary. These milestones will include a family vacation to a place we have never been! Also, my Aunt Great Lee turns 110 this spring.
We have so much to be thankful for and so much to look forward to. We hope this year will be the year we grow our family through adoption. We have so much love to give and can't wait to share and make memories with our future child.
